🌙 Meet "Oliver"- 10 Months old

The Challenge

Oliver's sleep had become increasingly unpredictable. Some nights he would sleep for several hours, while other nights he was waking every two hours and taking over an hour to settle. Daytime naps were also inconsistent, leaving his parents exhausted and unsure what to try next.

My Assessment

After reviewing Oliver's sleep patterns, feeding, routine and developmental stage, it became clear there wasn't one single cause. His sleep pressure, circadian rhythm and daily routine were all playing a role. Rather than looking for a quick fix, we focused on understanding why his sleep had become unsettled.

Our Approach

Together, we refined his daytime routine, protected restorative naps and made gentle adjustments to bedtime timing. We also explored what was developmentally appropriate, giving his parents the confidence to respond consistently while supporting his changing sleep needs.

Graduation Results

By the end of our time together, Oliver had made some wonderful progress.

✨ Overnight wakes reduced from 4 per night to just 1.

✨ His longest overnight sleep stretch increased from 2 hours to over 7 hours.

✨ Morning naps extended from 30 minutes to around 1½ hours.

✨ Bedtime settling reduced from over an hour to around 10 minutes.

Most importantly, his parents finished feeling calm and confident. They understood why Oliver had been waking, knew how to support his sleep moving forward and felt empowered to navigate future developmental changes with confidence.

🌙 Meet "Charlotte"- 6 Months old

The Challenge

Charlotte was taking short 30 minute naps throughout the day and waking frequently overnight. Her parents felt they were constantly trying different routines but nothing seemed to make a lasting difference.

My Assessment

After reviewing Charlotte's sleep diary via our app system, it became clear she was struggling to build enough sleep pressure between naps while also carrying some accumulated sleep debt. Rather than needing a complete routine overhaul, she needed a more balanced approach that supported both her daytime and overnight sleep.

Our Approach

We focused on creating more restorative daytime sleep, gradually adjusting wake windows and supporting her natural circadian rhythm, all while keeping the approach gentle, responsive and suited to her family's needs.

Graduation Results

Charlotte's progress was steady and sustainable.

✨ Daytime naps increased from 30 minutes to consistently 1½ hours.

✨ Overnight waking reduced from every 2 to 3 hours to just 1 to 2 wakes overnight.

✨ Her longest overnight sleep stretch increased from 3 hours to around 6 hours.

✨ Bedtime became calm and predictable, usually settling within 10 to 15 minutes.

Perhaps the biggest transformation was her parents' confidence. They finished understanding how sleep pressure, circadian rhythm and development all worked together, allowing them to make informed decisions without second guessing themselves.

🌙 Meet "Noah"- 11 Months old

The Challenge

Noah had always been a fairly unsettled sleeper, but as he approached his first birthday, his parents felt things were becoming even more unpredictable. Overnight waking remained frequent, naps were often short and they weren't sure whether he was ready to transition towards one nap or if something else was contributing to his sleep.

My Assessment

After reviewing Noah's sleep patterns, feeding, development and daily routine, it became clear that he wasn't quite ready for a one nap schedule. His sleep pressure and circadian rhythm still supported two restorative naps each day, but his wake windows needed gentle refinement to better balance daytime sleep with overnight rest.

Our Approach

Together, we focused on protecting two quality naps, gradually adjusting wake windows and ensuring Noah was building appropriate sleep pressure throughout the day. We also discussed how sleep changes around this age are often influenced by rapid developmental progress and increasing independence.

Graduation Results

Noah's family finished their support with a much more settled and predictable routine.

✨ Overnight wakes reduced from 3 to 4 per night to just 1.

✨ His longest overnight sleep stretch increased from 2 to 3 hours to around 8 hours.

✨ Daytime naps increased from 30 to 40 minutes to consistently 1 to 1½ hours.

✨ Bedtime became calm and predictable, with Noah settling within 10 to 15 minutes.

Most importantly, Noah's parents finished feeling confident about what to expect over the coming months. Instead of worrying about whether they were "doing it wrong," they understood how his sleep would continue to evolve and felt equipped to support him through future developmental milestones

🌙 Meet "Leo"- 5 Months old

The Challenge

Following the four month sleep transition, Leo had gone from sleeping long stretches overnight to waking almost every hour. His parents felt like all the progress they had made had disappeared overnight and worried they had somehow created bad sleep habits.

My Assessment

Leo's sleep had matured exactly as expected during this stage of development. Rather than trying to "fix" the regression, we focused on understanding the biology behind what had changed and supporting healthy sleep as his brain developed.

Our Approach

Together, we protected restorative daytime sleep, optimised sleep pressure and gently adjusted his daily routine to better support his developing circadian rhythm. Just as importantly, we helped his parents understand that this was a normal developmental milestone rather than a setback.

Graduation Results

Leo gradually settled into a much more predictable sleep pattern.

✨ Overnight wakes reduced from every hour to just 2 overnight feeds.

✨ His longest overnight sleep stretch increased from 45 to 60 minutes to around 6 hours.

✨ Daytime naps became more restorative, extending from 30 minutes to around 1½ hours.

✨ Bedtime became calm, with Leo usually settling within 10 minutes.

Most importantly, his parents no longer feared every bedtime. They understood what had changed developmentally and felt confident supporting Leo through future sleep changes without feeling overwhelmed.

"Ashleigh is incredibly knowledgeable, kind and supportive. She took the time to really understand our family and made us feel heard every step of the way. She answered every email I sent with questions or when I was anxious so fast, and I sent a lot... but her guidance gave us so much confidence. We can't thank her enough! If you need help with your babies sleep, email Ashleigh now!"

"Ash was so supportive, knowledgeable and reassuring throughout the whole process. She gave us a plan that felt achievable and was always there to answer our questions.

We saw improvements after week one & continue to see improvements!

Thanks again Ash!"

"We recently used sleepy little cub for our 10 month old as we were experiencing very inconsistent sleep and needed support.

Ashleigh has been an amazing help not only for our son but for me too. From our first questionnaire and tracking his sleep for a few days she quickly understood the difficulties we were experiencing and noticed what he was doing by the trends in his sleep.

Her approach was gentle and she looked at the whole picture and reasons as to why rather than using a single method or particular steps.

Ashleigh has helped us to gain a better understanding of our son’s sleep, obtained longer stretches overnight and also reminded me of the good job we’re doing and to celebrate the wins big or small.

If you’re in need of sleep support I would definitely recommend!"

"Working with Ash at Sleepy Little Cub has been one of the best decisions we made!! Our sleep plan was incredibly detailed, easy to follow and completely tailored to our baby! Bedtime is now so easy and me and my husband actually get time to sit, have dinner and relax together! We are actually finally feeling like we're enjoying this stage again! Thank you for everything Ash!"

Parent Testimonials ⭐

"Sleepy Little Cub and more specifically, Ash was a life saver. We were in a really tough place with fighting naps and bedtime, multiple false starts every bedtime, approximately 8 wakes a night and a very irritable baby in herself day to day.

Ash was amazing at identifying the source of these issues immediately and put a plan in place for us to start making changes. It didn’t take long at all for the nap/bedtime fights to reduce and for her to become a lot more happier in herself.

The knowledge I have learnt and behaviours I now understand after working with Sleepy Little Cub is the most important part. Understanding why certain things happen and having the tools to make changes yourself is a godsend, giving us the confidence to continue on after the programme.

I can’t fault Ash, she is passionate about this work and helping families and was available to answer any questions and offer suggestions in such a timely manner.

We are very grateful for finding Sleepy Little Cub and would recommend any families that need that bit of help and guidance, not to hesitate!"

"We honestly cannot thank Ashleigh enough for everything she has done for our family!

We were completely overwhelmed and were constantly questioning whether we were doing the right thing! We didn't know what each night would be like, naps were hardly a thing and we were so worried we were making things worse!

From our very first call, Ashleigh made us feel supported and reassured. Rather than just telling us what to do, she explained the science behind our baby's sleep in a way that actually made sense! Understanding why things were happening completely changed how we looked at his sleep and gave us so much more confidence!

The improvements have been incredible!!! Bedtime is now calm, his sleep at night is much more settled and we are finally getting long stretches, naps are longer and apart from the odd day, the same every day! And we finally feel like we have a routine that works for our family!

The sleep support plan was so educational and it was obvious how much time and care Ash had spent on it!! We never felt judged or pressured, only supported!

If you're looking for help that actually works and from someone who genuinely cares, we couldn't recommend Ashleigh and Sleepy Little Cub highly enough!!! It has been one of the best things we have done for our family!"
